THE SILK ROAD - A JOURNEY OF PEACE

28 August 2016

AS POWERFUL AS HOPE, AS BEAUTIFUL AS PEACE

The Silk Road is not only a journey of trade between Asia and Europe, but also a journey of peace with the hope to understand and connect the world. At the time of the World’s 70th Anniversary of the end of World War II, inspired by the spirit of the Silk Road, this concert is a tribute to honour the brave and fallen. Featuring the classic Yellow River Concerto and Chinese composer Chu Wanghua’s The Silk Road Symphony, the concert assembles renowned Australian musicians, including composer George Dreyfus, internationally renowned traditional Chinese instrumentalist and ethnomusicologist Wang Zheng Ting, pianist Caroline Almonte, conductor John Ferguson and the Pro-Musica Orchestra to salute the power of hope and the beauty of peace.
