Lu Siqing began violin study at four. From a young age, he has studied under world’s most famous pianists in New York, London and China. Lu has performed in many renowned venues across the world and won numerous international awards. He has also worked with many of the world’s esteemed musicians as well as leading orchestras.Lu Siqing has released over 20 CDs and video recordings for Philips, Naxos, Marco Polo and BIS. His recordings of the most famous Chinese violin work, the “Butterfly Lovers” violin concerto has sold over a million copies worldwide. His interpretation of the work has been widely considered the best among the more than 40 available recordings of other violinists.
In August 2016, Castiglione hosted the most celebrated Chinese violinist Lu Siqing at his Melbourne live concert ‘Nostalgia’, tailored for overseas Chinese. Lu collaborated with Melbourne's local young pianist Stefan Cassomenous in these two sold out concerts. Lu comforted audiences’ nostalgia for their hometowns across the sea with his superb violin skills. The performance, which proved to be a significant event in Australia Chinese arts calendar, strengthened the bond within and beyond the community. Lu thoroughly enjoyed working with Castiglione, written that 'it was a pleasure to be able to come to Melbourne and play these two recitals.
